"The thing I like best about Brownies is that we work on badges and we also get Brownie rewards, which we can get Brownie things with! I also love going to Brownie Pack Holiday on an island. Brownies is awesome!!"
Charlotte K, age 9 Brownie

"My daughter loves going to brownies each week. She really enjoys working on badges and takes great pride in sewing her badges on her Brownie vest! It encourages her to learn crafts such as sewing and knitting, in addition to all the other fun activities that they do."
Judy, Parent

"My first year in Girl Guides was fab. I have enjoyed camping on Paget Island and earning badges. Working with my patrol to earn ‘Go for Its’ has also contributed to my great year!"

volunt_logo Volunteers Make Guiding Happen!

leaders2Does the thought about making a difference in the lives of young women in your community excite you? Volunteer with Girlguiding Bermuda!

Help out in a variety of ways, from working with the girls, to assisting with PR, accounting, recruitment, training and much, much more. You can give as much or as little time as you are able.

As a volunteer you will get a great sense of satisfaction from watching the girls and young women in your unit develop their confidence and skills, as well as have lots of fun. In addition, working to improve your community both directly with the girls and possibly outside the unit on community projects will give you a huge sense of personal achievement.

Our girls and young women get involved in a huge range of exciting activities from outdoor challenges to learning new skills such as first aid, and much more throughout the programme. And then there’s the opportunities guiding provides for international travel, getting involved in community action projects, camping and trying out new sports.

As a Leader you can take an active part in some of these fun and exciting activities yourself. Or you can simply organize activities for the girls and get pleasure from watching them enjoy it to the fullest.

If you would like to give some of your time to helping to shape the lives of others, please contact us by completing the form on our 'contact us' page.

Volunteers are usually women, although there are some roles for male volunteers as well. For example, men can help with fundraising, or teach a special skill such as climbing or outdoor cooking.
